How to Style a Gallery Wall with Vintage-Inspired Collage Prints

Gallery walls don’t have to be perfect—they just have to feel like you. If you love vintage-inspired collage prints, here’s a simple approach to building a gallery wall that feels collected, warm, and intentional.

Step 1: Choose your anchor piece

Start with one larger print you love. This becomes the visual “center of gravity.” Everything else supports it.

Step 2: Mix sizes, keep spacing consistent

Use 2–3 sizes (for example: 8x10, 11x14, 16x20). Keep spacing between frames consistent—about 2 inches is a great starting point.

Step 3: Add one unexpected element

A gallery wall feels more “collected” when you include one surprise: a small mirror, a vintage postcard, a tiny shelf, or a textile piece.

Step 4: Lay it out on the floor first

Arrange everything on the floor and take a photo. This helps you see balance before you commit to nails. When you’re happy, transfer the layout to the wall using painter’s tape as a guide.

Tip: If you’re mixing frames, keep one unifying detail (all black frames, all wood tones, or all white mats).
